VARANASI TO PATNA
DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Arrive Delhi, Our Exotic Routes representative will be awaiting for you outside the EXIT gate of arrival terminal, holding a placard, Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel.
The capital of modern India has behind it centuries of history, which has enriched its culture. Nowhere has tradition blended with modernity on a scale as evident in New Delhi. Delhi is what you want it to be – a modern city with life or a city of monuments and history.
Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: DELHI – VARANASI BY FLIGHT
VARANASI BOAT CRUISE
Breakfast at hotel, later in time Our Exotic Routes representative transfer you to the airport to board flight for Varanasi.
Arrive Varanasi airport, Our Exotic Routes representative will be waiting for you outside the EXIT gate of arrival terminal, holding a placard, Met upon arrival and transfer Steemer Ghat Embark on your cruise ship from 4pm onwards sail upstream towards Chunar and enjoy dinner on board.
Overnight on cruise.
DAY 03: CRUISE DAY
Disembark after breakfast to visit Chunar’s great Moghul fort, the old British cemetery and the Moghul tombs nearby. Carpet weaving and Chunar pottery are other attractions here. Later sail downstream to Ramnagar to visit the Maharaja’s Palace and Museum.
DAY 04: CRUISE DAY
Take rowing boats at dawn past the busy and colourful bathing ghats. After breakfast drive to visit the Buddhist site at Sarnath, the Deer Park where the Buddha preached his first sermon and the Archaeological Museum. PM disembark by boat and take a walk in the busy alleys of Varanasi to experience the beating heart of the city and join the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony. Return to ABN Rajmahal moored at Rajghat.
DAY 05: CRUISE DAY
After breakfast on board, disembark and drive 2 hrs to the city of Jaunpur to see the Mughal Bridge, visit its ancient fort and walk to see the splendid Atala mosque before returning to the ship for
lunch and sail downstream towards Ghazipur. Alternatively some may prefer to stay back and explore Varanasi’s tempting shopping possibilities.
DAY 06: CRUISE DAY
Morning Sail, after Lunch disembark at Ghazipur and visit the imposing tomb of Lord Cornwallis, the general defeated by George Washington in 1781 so arguably responsible for the loss of the American colonies. We might also be able to spend a little time walking in the busy Ghazipur bazaar, a quintessential Indian experience. Later sail down towards Buxar.
DAY 07: CRUISE DAY
After breakfast disembark to the country town of Buxar, famous for the battle fought here in 1764, which together with Plassey, laid the foundations of the British raj. Drive out to the battlefield and walk to a nearby village, then take cycle rickshaws down to the Buxar ghats where we re-embark. Sail down to anchor near confluence of Ghagra.
DAY 08: CRUISE DAY
Cruise past the busy river port of Doriganj and the confluence with the Sone River to a ghat from which we visit the spectacular small Moghul tomb at Maner. Sail down to anchor at Patna.
DAY 09: PATNA – DELHI BY FLIGHT –
After breakfast disembark from the Cruise at 0700 hrs & transferred to airport to board flight for Delhi.
Upon arrival at delhi airport, Our Exotic Routes representative will meet and transfer to the hotel .
Evening free for leisure activities.
Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10 : FINAL DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel, later check out Our Exotic Routes representative meet you & transfer you to the international airport to board you onward flight.
