Republic of Korea (South) Visa Information

South Korea Tourist / Visitor Visa

• Valid passport with at least 6 months validity.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed). Chennai Consulate requires 2 forms.
• Two passport-size photographs. Chennai Consulate requires 2 photos.
• Covering letter from applicant explaining the purpose of travel.
• Covering letter from applicant’s company to establish social/professional status.
• Details of inviter in Korea (full name, ID No./Foreigner Registration No., phone number).
• If inviter is an individual, employee certificate is required.
• Confirmed onward/return air ticket.
• Correspondence/documents supporting purpose of entry.
• Hotel confirmation.
• If applying for Visitor visa (invited by someone in Korea), documents required from Korea.

Express Visa Eligibility:

• Must meet at least one of the following:
  • Confirmation of Visa Issuance No. from Korea.
  • Previously visited Korea with Multiple Entry Visa.
  • Visited Korea at least 2 times in the last 2 years.
  • Visited Korea at least 3 times in the last 5 years.
• F-6 Visa applicants are not eligible.
• Must not have violated Korean immigration laws.
• Must submit Declaration Form for Express Visa.

Visa Fees:

• Tourist Visa Fee: Rs. 2,400/-
• Express Visa Fee: Rs. 4,200/-
• VFS Service Charge: Rs. 855/- (inclusive of taxes)

South Korea Business Visa

• Valid passport with at least 6 months validity.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed). Chennai Consulate requires 2 forms.
• Two passport-size photographs. Chennai Consulate requires 2 photos.
• Covering letter from employer recommending travel, with travel dates and duration. Must also include proof of signatory’s designation.
• Invitation letter from Korean company with full details, ID No. (Foreigner Registration No.) and seal/signature.
• Photocopy of Korean company’s Certificate of Business Registration or tax payment documents.
• Copy of Business Registration Certificate of Indian & Korean companies.
• Bank letter and company bank statement (for proprietors).
• Personal bank statement of last 6 months.

Express Visa Eligibility:

• Same criteria as Tourist/Visitor visa applies.
• Declaration Form for Express Visa is required.
